“I’ve never met Charles Azarian, but my understanding is that his ambition isn’t tempered by reason or ethics.”

“Seems like a fun guy.”

They sat there for a long moment, accompanied by the hum of the engine and the indistinct murmur of conversation. Anthony leaned in and rested his head on Freddie’s shoulder.

“Thank you for telling me.”

“I…” Freddie seemed at a loss.

“What?”

“I don’t enjoy lying to you.”

Anthony looked up at Freddie, who was staring straight ahead.

“Okay.”

“Or hiding things from you. You deserve better.”

Freddie’s words sent a warm wave through Anthony’s chest. Why did he care about this man’s opinion? He’d only known Freddie for two weeks. But here he was, practically snuggled up to him on a flight to Barcelona.
