Story: The Princess's Bodyguard
“Of course, you know the main thing that will change when you become Queen?”
“What’s that?”
“My duty and purpose in life right now to love and guard my princess. Then, it’ll be to love and guard my Queen.”
“I couldn’t ask for a better protector—or a better wife. I love you, J. So much.”
“I love you, too, Tab. You are the light of my life, and you always will be.”
They declined going down to dinner that night, taking it up in their room, eating in bed and watching Netflix, talking late into the night.
Tabitha knew that things would change when the baby came along, but she was ready to face that change head-on with JK. JK would be an amazing mom and Tabitha would be privileged to raise a child with her.
For so long, she had thought that she would live a life of misery, forced to marry a man and live in lovelessness and denial. Some days, she still couldn’t believe how perfectly everything had come together.
“Do you ever miss it?” Tabitha murmured. “Your life in America?”
“Not for a second,” JK said without hesitation. “I’m right where I need to be, here with you, and soon enough, with our child.”
Tabitha couldn’t agree more.
