Story: The Hideout

The song came to an end, but Juliet could only gaze into Paige’s eyes, her tears continuing to gather along her jawline. Paige got to her feet and crossed the space, brushing her knuckles gently against Juliet’s jaw. “Please don’t cry.” She wiped them away, stepping between Juliet’s legs. “Hey, come on. This is a tear-free home.”

“Then you need to stop singing such beautiful songs,” Juliet said, whimpering as she smiled. Her arms wrapped around Paige’s waist, and as she pulled her in painfully close, their foreheads touched. “You’re incredible. Every last thing about you is just…I don’t know. I love you beyond words, Paige.”

“I love you too, babe. But you know I hate seeing you cry.”

Juliet cupped Paige’s cheek. “Because in the past, crying hasn’t been a positive thing for you. But for me? God, I’ve waited my entire life for someone who can make me cry with happiness.”

Paige regarded Juliet with a shy smile. “Yeah?”

“The best decision I’ve ever made in my life was to leave my career. The only thing I’d ever really known. Because it brought me to you. The happiness you give me. The love I feel. These tears…they’re nothing to worry about, Paige.”

“You don’t know how happy I am that I didn’t leave when I said I would. Or how stupid I was for ever thinking I couldn’t trust you.”

“Baby, you’ve been through so much. I never expected your trust from the beginning. But now, now you know I’ve got you. That I’d never do anything to hurt you.” Juliet stroked her thumb across Paige’s bottom lip, leaning in and replacing it with her mouth. God, Paige’s lips were a dream. And that gentle moan…oh, it would always hit the spot for Juliet. “Should we begin unpacking your belongings?”

Paige smiled against Juliet’s lips. “Sure. It’ll take all of five minutes.”

“Perfect. That gives me much more time to undress you slowly while I worship every last inch of your skin.”

“B-babe.” Paige shook where she stood between Juliet’s legs.

Juliet grinned as she pulled back, a brow arched. “Yes?”

“You have to stop saying things like that to me.” Paige had a now familiar look in her eyes. One that Juliet enjoyed seeing daily. “You know exactly what you’re doing.”

“You’re right. I do. But isn’t it fun?” Juliet winked as she slid from the stool. One arm remained around Paige as she kissed her softly. “I know it’s a lot of fun for me.”

“M-me, too.”

Satisfied that she’d worked Paige up exactly how she wanted to, Juliet’s arm fell from around her waist as she headed for Paige’s boxes. “Well, then we should get these out of the way. We have a home to create together.”
