He looks pleased. “I was so fucking nervous. I mean, I assumed you’d say yes, since you kind of asked me first, but there was still that tiny chance you might reject me.”

“You’re insane. There was exactly a zero percent chance I’d say no.”

He tugs me down next to him. “Come here, future husband.”

I slip my arm around his waist, sighing contentedly. “This is a perfect moment, Gabe. There aren’t many of those in life.”

His fingers caress my back. “There will be more of them from now on because we found each other again.”

It’s a simple statement, but it rings true. I feel the certainty of it in my soul. My entire universe has shifted. Where once there was fear, there’s now trust. Where once there was hatred, there’s now love.

I remember hating Ryan with the power of a thousand suns.

Now I love him with the power of a million more.
