Story: Scorching Sienna
I will never get sick of this, I think, as my body isonce again spent as I rest against his chest.
“Geezus, rainbow. You are going to destroy me,” he grumbles, the reverberation in his chest comforting as he strokes my back.
“I think you have destroyed me. I don’t know how I’m going to walk today.”
He slips his cock out of me, the flow of wetness dripping onto his already messed-up sheets, making me blush.
“Wait here,” he says, disappearing into the en suite bathroom, followed by water running.
I waitbecause, really, there is nowhere else I would rather be.
Chapter 25
Shadow
Tears run down my rainbow’s face as she claps beside me. While everyone is looking at Trixy and Roger, who have just sealed the deal with a rather passionate kiss, I am looking at Sienna. She looks so beautiful. Glowing. It is not just because of the fantastic job the stylist did. It is because of what we did last night and this morning.
I can feel that same glow flowing through me. Is it possible that I have been infected with her light? With her joy? It must bebecause I have never felt this kind of happiness in my whole life.
“That was amazing,” Sienna gushes, dabbing her eyes with a tissue the elderly woman beside her offered.
“Come, let's get a drink while they take photos.” I lace my hand through hers, eager to get out of these chairs and out of sight of the chapel to our right.
Lola’s. While this outside area with the lake view in the background was nice, I hated this venue only because Sienna had married James here. I was hoping I could completely erase his memory. A selfishnotion, I was well aware. But Sienna was mine now, and I did not share. Even with a ghost.
“Is this the kind of wedding you want?” She looks at me and laughs, probably due to the look on my face.
“It’s lovely, but no. The woman that wanted this kind of wedding, this kind of life, is not the one I am now.”
I lift my eyebrow, an indication that she continues.
“I’m different with you. I’m still me, but I’m more me than I have ever been, Damon. And I think you are different with me too. So now, if I get married, I want it to be small and intimate. Only a handful of people who genuinely care about you and me. I don’t want to invite people just because I have to or because I fear their feelings will get hurt.”
“If?” I repeat, her brows raising in exasperation.
“When we get married,” she corrects, blushing when I say, “Good girl.”
When we arrive at the bar in the reception hall inside, I am relieved to see they are stocking a half-decent bottle of whiskey.
“Sir, you must be the gentleman Trixy was telling me about. She got this,” he says, holding the bottle up, “especially for you.” The barman smiles at me before handing me my drink. I must be happy as I actually return it with a smile of my own.
“Did you just smile?” Sienna pokes me in the ribs playfully before filling the air with that beautiful laugh that is number five on my list of favorite things.
“You see, you are different with me.”
The barman places a glass of rose in front of Sienna before moving to the end of the bar, where other guests are waiting.
“To number five,” I say, clinking my glass against hers while she looks at me confused.
“Number five?” She sips her wine, looking at me expectantly.
“My list of favorite items in the world. Your laugh is number five.” Her eyebrows raise in surprise.
“You mentioned it last night as well. What is number one?”
“That moan you make when you’re turned on. I remember the first time I heard it. In the passage atSinwhen you had those two goddam ponytails in your hair.”
Her rosy cheeks tell me she remembers all too well.
