Story: Scalebound
“Yes! Luella always talked to me about how lonely it was having her parents gone and not having family. We were her family. I don’t want anyone else to feel that way. I know there are probably not many Scaleborne orphans, but I figured with the combination of Scalekind and humans, we will have enough orphans in the kingdom to be able to provide shelter and safety at this school!”
We all stood in awe, looking at the marvelous scuffed brick, noting the slabbed patterns and the enormity of the building. A surge of contentment washed over everyone, admiring the work that GG was able to create in order to help many kids who were just like Luella: alone and in need of a family.
“I think the dragons approve as well,” Loker stated. Above us, our dragons circled, calling out, screeching their approval that thundered in the air.
“Shall we?” Damian said as Belle flew down next to us, ready to take us back to the castle.
“You just want me to practice my shadow-wielding, don’t you?”
“Ugh, you don’t even know, my Shadow Queen,” he said as he swiftly mounted Belle, his hand reaching down to help me up. Smiling at his remark, I let my eyes wander in the direction of my castle. I thought of my father and how he told me that I was going to be a remarkable queen. Hewantedme to be queen. Feeling the shadows that dangerously coursed through my veins, I intended to live up to those words.
