I rise on my toes and press a kiss to his lips, lingering there. "You deserve all of it."
He kisses me again, then rests his forehead to mine. "Let’s build that life, Everly. Let’s make it bigger than our fear."
My heart is bursting.
"Yes. Let’s do it all."
As we drive home, I glance out the window at the mountain road lit by moonlight. My life took a turn the day my car broke down. But sometimes the wrong turn leads you exactly where you’re meant to be.
And here, in this cabin, in these mountains, with this man—I’ve never been happier.
This is home.
This is forever.
