“There was a little social media rumour that ended up in the newspapers back home,” I confessed. “And I’m wondering what it means. For us.”
Bradley looked worried. “Nothing is going to change us, love. We’re stuck together like glue now.”
“Well…that’s what the rumour was about,” I said. “Apparently you told Jason you were going to marry me. The press got wind of it, but…you’ve not mentioned it to me.
Bradley held me closer, just letting us bob in the water for a second as he considered his answer. “I know I’m going to marry you, Arthur. There’s no question of that. I was just worried that it’s too soon to ask.”
I laughed quietly. “Really? We’ve been together three years.”
“Two months,” Bradley corrected. “Wait. Shit. We really have been, haven’t we? Like a married couple the whole time.”
“So one day, when you do ask me, the answer is yes,” I said.
Bradley cocked his head. “So will you?”
“What?”
“Marry me.”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation in my reply. “Shit, did we just get engaged?”
“I guess we did, my love.” Bradley hugged me close and planted a kiss at the top of my head. “Here’s to forever.”
“Forever,” I sighed. “I like the sound of that.”
