Story: Lorenzo's Claim
“Noted.” I dipped down, retrieving her skirt before worrying about myself. I helped her back into it, fastening it as best as I could since I’d broken the zipper. “Good as new.”
“You know it’s not. You did it on purpose.” She smirked. “Not that I minded, though. It was hot.” She chuckled, stirring something within me. Something so damn good.
“I have a meeting in about…” I glanced at my watch. “Now, actually. You kept me so busy that I lost track of time.” I pulled on my pants just as there was a knock on the door. “Looks like he’s here now, will you stay?”
“Do you want me to?” She looked shocked, which was cute since she was just as intimidating as my men were, so why not have her stay?
“Of course I do. Stay beside me though,” I ordered. “Enter,” I called out.
Rox stepped in, his usual smirk faltered as he took in the scene. Ana’s presence was undeniable. She was as powerful as I was, and Rox knew it. She had no idea what he’d done, but she knew how to read the room. She knew he fucked up.
Rox’s gaze lingered on her, and my jaw tightened. I hadn’t forgotten the last warning I’d given Rox about staring at and making remarks about my wife, but he didn’t seem to remember those words and threats.
“Lorenzo,” Rox began, his tone cautious. “I?—”
“Save it,” I interrupted, not giving a shit about what his excuses were. “Sit down.”
Rox hesitated before taking a seat across from the desk, his eyes flicking between Ana and me. I pulled out my chair, gesturing for my wife to sit down. She raised her brow in confusion, but she complied nonetheless.
She lowered herself gracefully, taking a seat as I stood beside her, my hand resting possessively on the back of the chair as my knuckles brushed her bare shoulder. “This might be my seat, but that also means it’s yours,” I whispered. Her lips curved into a faint, knowing smile. What’s mine was now hers. She was my equal. Just as she should be.
I turned my attention back to Rox who shifted in his seat. Poor bastard knew I was pissed off to say the least. “You dealt us complete and utter shit,” I seethed, my voice cutting through the room like the blade that sat in my waistband. “You know that shitty weapons could get my men killed. Did you really think I’d let that slide? Do you think I’m too busy to notice?”
Rox shifted uncomfortably, his hands fidgeting. “It was a mistake, Lorenzo. I?—”
I rounded the desk, keeping my eyes locked on the quivering cunt in front of me as Ana seemed to enjoy my calculated movements. “You see, Rox, I don’t like mistakes. Can’t stand them, actually, and you have made a monumental one. Just as the last one did, and do you know what happened to him?”
My hand shot out the second I was in range, grabbing him by the collar of his expensive shirt that was doused in some cheap, foul smelling cologne. I hauled him to his feet, my temper rapidly rising. “He was hacked apart and buried all over the city. Shame since he was a nice lad, but just like you, he tried to screw me over despite the contract we had in place.”
“Listen…” He trembled.
“No,youlisten. Did you read that contract, Rox?” I asked, surprisingly calm for how angry I was.
“Y-yes…” he struggled.
“Wrong, try again.” I laughed.
“Okay! N-no, I d-didn’t read i-it!” He clawed at my hand, but it only made me tighten my hold on his collar. I squeezed the fabric and cut off his air supply.
“Top of the class for you for finally telling the truth.” I knew he hadn’t because the fine print stated he was signing away the rights to his death if he fucked up.
Before Rox could respond, I pulled the knife from my belt, the blade glinting under the office lights. Ana watched on as I forcefully shoved my blade into Rox’s side, just missing his lung.
He gasped, his eyes widening in pain as he fisted my shirt.
“Y-you stabbed m-me…” he managed as I let his collar go.
“I know, and you’re lucky I’m in a good mood, otherwise it would have been worse. Fatal even,” I growled, my voice laced with venom. “One more chance, just one. But one more fuck up, and you’re a dead man. You won’t even see it coming. It’ll be asurprise, and even if you run and hide at the ends of the earth, I’ll find you regardless.”
“I won’t fuck up again. You have my word.” He tried to move but realised that the second he did, the knife would bury itself deeper and damage his insides more than it already was.
“Your word means fuck all to me right now.” I turned my attention to Ana who had now joined me. “I might have spared you today—because my wife put me in the best mood before you showed up, so you’re going to thank her for that.”
Rox’s eyes darted to Ana, confusion and fear mixing in his expression. His gratitude wasn’t fast enough, which didn’t sit right with me, so I pushed the knife deeper as he whimpered in pain.
“Fucking thank her. Show her some respect before I let you bleed out,” I snapped, my hand tightening around the handle.
Rox groaned, his face contorted in pain. “Thank you,” he managed, his voice barely audible.
