“They will. Maybe they can join us after a few days, and it will be one big, long vacation,” Lexie nods as she speaks.

“Perfect. It’s a win-win,” Stella jumps up and runs to the water. Remy sees her coming and catches her when she jumps on him.

“She’s really excited. Heck, I’m excited,” I stand and look at Lexie, who’s also getting up.

“I’m not sure how you still don’t swear after being around all of us,” Lexie laughs as we head to our men.

“It’s a good thing. Otherwise, Kaylee would run around like Ava and Birdie saying the f-word for everything.”

“You’ve got me there. When they start school, they’re going to get in so much trouble,” she laughs.

My toes have barely hit the water when Kade picks me up bridal style and swings me around. “I heard we’re going on vacation. Well, first you and then us. Am I hearing correctly?”

Kade dips down and kisses along my collarbone and up my neck.

“Hey, there are children here,” Remy calls over.

My husband doesn’t pay him any attention. Instead, he increases his kisses until his mouth is hovering over mine. “Are you having a good time?”

I tighten my grip around his broad shoulders. “I am, and we are going on vacation. Stella was trying to convince me that we should move here, and I suggested a girls’ weekend.”

“And it turned into the menfolk coming?”

Menfolk. I shake with laughter. “Yes, doesn’t a vacation sound nice?”

“I’d prefer one with just the two of us, but it will be fun. What do you say we have our own little vacation tonight once Kaylee goes to sleep? Maybe do a little skinny dipping in the pool?”

“Oh, I like the sound of that. Maybe we should knock out of here early.”

Nuzzling my ear, he nips my earlobe. “I like the way you think. Should we make our escape? I bet Kaylee will fall asleep on the way home after playing in the water all day.” I nod, and Kade immediately lets me slip down his body. “Let’s say goodbye to our friends and pick up dinner on the way home.”

Putting my hands on his shoulders, I smile up at him. “Why are you so perfect?”

“Because you’re perfect for me. Now get so I can get my alone time with you soon,” he winks as he slaps my ass.

Before I can turn and say anything, Lexie speaks. “I think everyone is ready for some adult fun.” She wraps herself around Ryder, and I see Remy pull Stella to his side. “We’ll convene soon and figure out the logistics for our vacations.”

“Mommy,” Kaylee comes running with her arms held out for me to pick her up.

Swinging her up on my hip, I kiss her pink cheek. “Hey, baby. Did you have a good time with your friends?”

“The bestest,” she grins, a dimple popping out on her left cheek. I smooth down her long black hair and hug her to me.

Kade wraps his arms around my shoulders as we head to the front of Lexie and Ryder’s house and out to the car. We wave at Remy, Stella, and Birdie as they are walking over to their house next door.

Putting the windows down, we let the wind whip through our hair. I love living in California and the weather we have.

By the time we pick up dinner, eat, and get Kaylee to sleep, I’ve been getting hungry eyes from my husband for a couple of hours, and I’m ready to jump him.

We each head toward the pool, taking off articles of our clothing and dropping them as we go.

I jump into the warm water with Kade coming in after me. It doesn’t take long before he’s wrapped around me and bringing us both up to the surface. His big body covers mine as he lines himself up and impales me the moment I gasp for air.

Kade brings me pleasure for the rest of the night, and only when I can barely keep my eyes open, pulls me onto him, where I fall asleep each night.

This is my life now. One I never foresaw as my future. I’ve got a man who would die for me, best friends who will do anything for me, the best daughter I could ever ask for, and I work for one of the hottest photographers ever. I’ve found the love of my life, something I thought would only be a dream.

I got my fairytale ending.

What started as one night of letting go and a drunken hookup has turned into the best thing that ever happened to me. Now, I embrace letting go with my husband, friends, and daughter, knowing only good things can come.
