They were up so fast they blew me back against the couch.
“Fuller, watch Elizabeth, please,” Liam said. “Don’t let her get too attached to that dog, because we’re finding her owner and my sister. Now.”
“Wait—”
“Where did you last see her?” Bane asked. “How long ago?”
“If you just listen—”
Grasping my chin, Sunny smooched me. “I love you, baby, but this was a terrible plan.”
“I’m seeing where the condescending part comes in,” I snapped. “If you all would just listen for a second, you’d realize neither of us is so stupid that we’d let her skip into the Brotherhood’s lair without assurance she could get out!”
The three of them stopped in their tracks.
“What does that mean?” Liam said.
I flicked to Sunny. “You said something very accurate the other night. There are lots of places to put a tracker.”
“You’re kidding,” Bane said. “Genny’s wearing a tracker?”
“And now we get to the part where you take back everything you said and tell your girlfriend she’s a genius. I figured if the Brotherhood’s happy to track us, we’d give it back just as hard. Madison’s going to take her back to the boss to show off their new prize.” I held up my phone. “GPS says they’re still driving in circles around Rockchapel. Once Madison thinks they lost any tail, we’ll know exactly where the Brotherhood is holding up.”
Liam claimed my phone, squinting at the screen. “What if they find the tracker? They’re going to search her—twice. Then a third time.”
“We thought of that. They’ll dump her phone for sure. They might even take her shoes and make her change clothes, but there’s one thing no one thinks to take from a woman.”
“Which is?” Sunny asked.
Sienna tossed her arm around me. “Tampons.” She beamed. “My idea.”
“Ah,” the brothers said, all looking vaguely uncomfortable. But neither one said we were wrong.
“So.” Folding my arms, I stared them down. “I’ll hear it now.”
“Kenzie ‘Candy Nipples’ Blaine,” Sunny said, grinning that grin. “You’re a genius.”
“You deserve more praise than I can express,” Liam spoke up. “The car stopped moving, and this location is very familiar to me.
“We know where the Brotherhood is.”
GENNY
“Move.” A hard shove propelled me forward.
I gritted my teeth, swallowing the urge to bloody my knuckles on Madison’s face. She was only getting so bold because we were finally in the Brotherhood’s hideout.
My gaze swept over the long hall of nothing. Madison was smart enough to stick me in the trunk for the drive. She let me out in a parking garage, then prodded me into the hallway we were walking down.
A lone figure stood at the end, waiting silently beside the only door in the hall. I studied him but couldn’t place his face among my long list of enemies. Dark hair, tall, average build, average height. I bet his mother couldn’t place him among all the mediocre gang fodder.
“Stop there.”
I took another step just to be cheeky, smirking at him all the way.
“Arms up.”
“There’s no hiding anything in this outfit,” I breezed. “That’s kind of the point.”
