Story: Fatal Misstep

He dropped the packet into her palm.
She tore it open and sheathed him, taking her time.
His legs quivered. His chest heaved. “Tease.”
Her hand froze until her brain processed his tone.
Not accusatory. Tight with lust, yes, but affectionate.
Another piece of Caleb found its way into her soul.
The second she’d finished, he pushed her against the mattress and positioned himself at her entrance.
Finally.
His lips caressed the shell of her ear, his warm breath causing goosebumps to pebble her flesh.
“Give me permission, Gia.”
“If you don’t get inside me right now, I swear, I’ll—”
Caleb entered her in one savage thrust, sending the headboard into the wall and stealing the breath from her lungs.
“You feel so good.” Braced on his forearms above her, his voice was strained. His face a mask of concentration.
Her body loosened, drew him in deeper.
Someone moaned. Him? Her? Both of them?
He pulled back partway, and the slow drag over her inner walls sent a ripple of pleasure through her. Another thrust. Retreat.
“Look at me, Gia. See who is pleasuring you.”
“I see you.”
How could she not? His eyes held her in his thrall, mirroring her pleasure. His arms sheltered her. His body claimed her.
She didn’t feel used. She felt cherished.
The realization sent her flying into a third, impossible orgasm.
Caleb’s hips churned, driving himself into her faster, deeper, without restraint. Then he stilled, coming with a hoarse shout before collapsing.
She held him to her, reveling in his weight, the damp heat of his chest, the way his heart thundered against her breasts, his gasps buffeting her ear.
The ceiling above her blurred as tears found their way to her eyes.
Just her luck. She’d finally found the right man at the wrong time.
Tell him.
About her phone call. Her secret. Everything.
“Stop thinking.”
She jerked her gaze from the ceiling to meet his fierce, determined one.
“Just let yourself feel. You and me. Together. No one will take this away from us.”
