Page 43 of Elevate With Me
Didn’t want to get her in my bed? Those couldn’t have been my words less than an hour ago. That’d been someone else, someone more noble, because if Haylee had still been here right now, she’d probably be squirming under me.
Yeah, baking wasn’t going to fix me, this tension required a different type of release. With one hand leaning on the barstool, my other gripped my dick through my pants. The warmth was already fading, but I was burning up with need.
Fuck it. I released the devil and did what needed to be done, smearing the seat with my cum when I finished. It didn’t help much. Did it help at all?
Monday morning arrived like a trainwreck I wasn’t prepared for. Not that anyone can ever truly be prepared for accidents. Still thinking about Haylee, obsessed as I was, I decided to try something different and fired a text to the number I’d saved off Drixie’s collar. Nothing crazy, though my mind came up with several inappropriate options.
It was a simple:Good morning, Red Cheeks. Good thing too, because what I received back wasn’t a variation of the same, but a very confused:Who is this?
I stood in my kitchen, staring at the barstool from the day before while gripping my phone and telling myself I was going to be fine. This was different from the time I got my heart wrecked. Haylee was a different girl. And even then, if it wasn’t going to work—fuck—I’d be fine, because I’d survived once before.
Just don’t go all in,I told myself.
Too late for that, jackass.
I opened the text, tapping at the screen harder than was necessary, and sent:It’s Luke, but you would have recognized me by the greeting if you were Haylee. Who am I speaking to?
Three dots appeared, then disappeared.
I shook my head. The phone number was a dead end. I needed a different approach.
Fairy Tales
“NO DAD!” I SHOUTED?into my phone. “Luke is not like that.”
He’d called me this morning concerned for my well being and asking about any men that I might have troubles with, because why else would I give anyone his number instead of my own? I hadn’t given Luke his number, but when I told Dad that he became twice as concerned as before.
“You should be careful, Haybear. Not all men have good intentions, you should know that by now,” Dad said on the line.
I expected that shit from Mum. I’d been pleasantly buzzing last night after Luke left me to recount every single detail to Glen. We giggled like teenagers. I knew the high would come down eventually; I just didn’t expect it to be this soon.
“He’s a neighbour. He carried my mattress up the stairs, let me borrow his umbrella, and never asked for it back. We ate pasta together. That’s all. I might be bad at reading people sometimes, but I’m not outright stupid.”
Dad sighed. “I didn’t say you were, honey. I just told you to be careful.”
“Fine,” I huffed.
