Story: Deviants (Badlands 2)
“There is no plan, aside from killing all these motherfuckers so we can go home.”
We huddled at the edge of the property like soldiers about to go on a raid. The only person missing was Dhal, who didn’t partake in such acts of brutality. Those were her exact words. I had no idea why she even came. It’s not like she was needed to perform a medical exam or anything. I felt great, health wise.
“Just to clarify, we don’t have a plan?”
We’d spotted two delegates standing guard outside the cabin’s front and rear entrance, so walking right in wasn’t an option.
“I got this, sis,” Cobra said, speaking for the first time since we’d arrived.
He gave us all a cheeky wink and then darted off.
“What’s he gonna do?” Arlen asked before I could.
“He’s going to kill them before they have any idea he’s there. It’s how he got his nickname. He’s fast and venomous.”
Sure enough, he took out the delegate out back first. I didn’t see it because I was too busy watching the one out front. When I looked to the back again, I saw the man on the ground in a puddle of blood.
“You ready to do this?” Romero asked me with a knowing smirk already on his face.
“Do you really need to ask?”
I felt like a predator getting ready to fuck up some prey.
My demons danced beneath my skin eager to play with his.
“Let’s go, then.” Rome gently took hold of my elbow and urged me forward, keeping me between him and Bryce.
“Some things never change,” Grimm laughed as screams filtered out of the cabin.
We went right through the front door Cobra had left open, shutting it behind us.
“Look, they’re here,” Cobra announced, swinging a blonde around by her hair so that she was facing us. He no longer had his sling on and was using his hurt arm to hold her in place. I’m positive a doctor would frown upon that.
Grimm headed straight for the stairs, confidently striding up them.
“Hi, Vicky.” I finger waved with a smile. “Where’s Marco?”
A door slammed from upstairs, something fell, and a millisecond later, a body was rolling down the steps.
“Shouldn’t people know by now that hiding under the bed is the dumbest thing you can do?”
Grimm sighed, his heavy boots resounded off the wooden stairs as he rejoined us.
He stepped right over Marco, who looked around in what appeared to be shock.
“You left your wife to hide under the bed? For real?” Arlen snorted and sat down on the leather couch.
“What do you want?” Marco asked.
“What the fuck do you think we want?” Romero asked in a bored tone.
“Pixie, why don’t you explain to this beautiful couple what’s going to happen?”
“Oh, okay, sure.” I cleared my throat and opened my mouth, shutting it when Marco attempted to run.
“You can’t be that dumb.” Grimm grabbed him by the back of the neck and bounced him off the wall like a yo-yo.
He hit the floor again with a loud thud and pained groan, blood running from his nose. “Go ahead,” Grimm encouraged, placing his shoe on Marco’s chest to keep him down.
