I turn Charlotte to face me, still marveling at how perfectly she fits.
"I love you," I tell her.
"I love you too," she replies, rising on tiptoe to kiss me. "Even if you did seduce the nanny."
I laugh against her lips. "Best decision I ever made."
Hiring Charlotte was supposed to simplify my life, to help me manage being a single father. Instead, it complicated everything in the most wonderful way possible.
