Story: Can't Hold Back

He paused, a conflicted expression on his face, as though he were glad she had condoms but didn’t like the idea of her using them with anybody else. “How many do you have?”

“I don’t know. Two, maybe three.”

Nate stared at her for a few seconds longer, and then there it was again, the slow, sensual grin that warmed her entire body.

A low, heavy rumble vibrated in his chest as he sank into another kiss. Those talented lips slid over her mouth, skimming along her cheek and jawline, then the sensitive skin underneath. The light scrape of his teeth against the column of her throat made the pulse in her core grow stronger. She shivered as she cupped the back of his head, tilting her neck a little to one side to give him more room to maneuver.

Her eyes drifted open, and she startled at the sight of an animal staring at her.

Nate pulled his head back, concern pinching his eyes. “What’s wrong?”

“We have an audience.” She gestured with her head to the right, where the kitten stood on the nightstand by the lamp. He let out a high-pitched meow.

“Hey, buddy,” Nate said to the cat. “He must have slipped out when I went into the bathroom.”

Dorcas tried to shoo the kitten away, but he just sat there, staring, his head cocked to the side as if he were judging them or something.

Nate bent his head to kiss her again. “Just ignore him.”

She tried; she really did. That thing Nate was doing with his tongue felt sublime, but she couldn’t get into it because every single time she opened her eyes, she found the cat watching them. It was creepy.

Clearly sensing her unease, Nate stopped what he was doing. “What’s wrong?”

“The cat won’t stop staring at us.”

He made a low sound of amusement. “Don’t worry about it. He doesn’t even know what’s going on.”

“But it’s unnerving. It’s like he’s sitting there, grading us.”

His dark eyebrows drew together. “You’re serious?”

“Yeah, I’m serious. Color me crazy, but there are things I don’t want watching me while I’m having sex: babies, pictures of my mom, and animals.”

His lips tugged up in a way that suggested he was fighting a laugh. “You’ve been watched by a baby?”

“No, and I plan on keeping it that way. Now could you...” She made a shooing motion toward the kitten.

Nate sighed. With obvious reluctance, he got out of bed and scooped up the cat, and it let out a meow of protest when he put it in the bathroom. He turned back to her, his hands on his hips and his cock still standing at full attention.

“Any other requests?”

“Aside from that thing you do with your teeth on my neck?”

He smiled, all male arrogance. “You like that, huh?”

“I like it a lot. Now get over here and do it some more.”

His return to bed was interrupted by a brisk knock at the door.

“Sorry to bother you, boss, but you got a phone call.” Jackson’s baritone carried through the door. “It’s Austin. Said it’s important. He said he tried calling you, but you’re not answering your phone.”

Nate closed his eyes on a muttered curse. “Tell him I’ll call in a minute, okay?”

“You got it.”

Dorcas waited to speak until the sound of footsteps faded. “I take it that means they know what we’ve been doing?”

“Yeah, I’d say that’s a given.” As he bent to pick up his pants, he shot her an apologetic look. “Sorry, babe.”
