“I know.” His voice broke then, his face flushed as the emotion racked him even more than the sensation. “I know, Jamie. I’ve always known…”
There couldn’t be any more words, not the spoken ones anyway, because he was plunging his heart into her right along with his dick, forcing her open, forcing her to accept everything he had with each stroke. She took it like a champ, rising up to meet every slam of his hips. In the end, it all fell apart, him collapsing down on top of her, her arms wrapped around him, the two of them rutting into each other as their ragged gasps filled the rooms, right before they reached their peak. The way they stiffened, I felt a second hand pleasure at that, knowing exactly how Brock felt and glorying in that knowledge. It had me smiling, despite the tears that filled my eyes. Beautiful things, they broke your heart and put them back together again.
Much later that night we all collapsed down on the bed, all of us boys tangled up in Jamie.
“I don’t think I can take that many orgasms every night,” she panted. “We need a roster.”
“We could do that—” Brock propped himself up on his elbow, staring down at her.
“You are not creating an orgasm schedule,” Hayden said in a sleepy voice.
“It doesn’t have to be all earth-shattering, toe-curling ecstasy,” I said, snuggling into her back.
“Oh, that’s what you think happened?”
I smiled at her arch tone.
“You were just about speaking in tongues at some point there, babe. Then you were using that tongue in a very distracting way, so don’t try to play.” My smile faded as I pressed a kiss into her neck. “But seriously, sometimes it could just be like this.”
Feeling close to her, every single one of us exhausted, satisfied, but more than that. We were rocked out on a sea of pleasure, just basking in the sun, knowing all was good in the world. I said something to that effect.
“So this is what love’s like?”
Her question was said in a small voice, one I’m not sure if Hayden heard, his breathing already evening out.
“Better,” I whispered back. “You’ll fall asleep soon, start doing that cute little snoring sound.”
An elbow was driven into my ribs.
“I don’t snore!”
“Whistle then,” Brock added. “Emphatic breathing?”
“I take it back,” she said, making a show of wriggling, but I think it was because it just made me grip her harder. “I don’t want this.”
“Too late.” I felt Brock’s shadow rather than saw it. “No take backs. You decided to take us on, for good or bad, and now you’re stuck with us. Snoring, multiple orgasms, and…” He dragged her away from me and plonked her right into one of the many damp spots on the bed. “Sleeping in the wet spot!”
Her scream filled my ears but that didn’t stop me from falling into sleep. Screams of outrage, screams of pleasure, we’d experience them all together.
Together, that word was almost as comforting as her as I wriggled closer, burying my face in her hair.
Chapter 57
Jamie
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
I looked up through the windshield of my car at his parents’ house as if I hadn’t been coming here for dinner once a week for nearly twenty years.
“Mum’s roast beef? It’s always a good idea,” he replied in a remarkably chipper tone. Brock was in a great mood all day, something the guys had commented on. Old Jamie would’ve blushed, felt embarrassed, but now? I just grinned and moved onto the next job. “C’mon.”
I clambered out of the car because he was coming around to my door to open it for me. His brow rose up in response, as if he knew exactly what I was doing. Trying to pretend like things were the same as they always were.
But they weren’t.
It wasn’t just the beard rash and sweet ache between my legs, because that was nothing compared to the hot glow in my chest. It just got brighter as he stared at me, a slow smile forming. That flared hotter when the guys pulled up in their vans.
“Ready to face the firing squad?” Hayden asked, holding out an arm for me to take but Hunter pushed in front of him, grinning when I took it.
