Even without wings, I've always been more clever than most. I'm a better fighter, more agile with better tactics since I learned to hone the skill. I know more about magic and our history than half of our coven, and I've never let myself get lazy like those with the wings. I've worked for everything I have.

I know that with all that I've done, I would be a better leader than half the underground Council. In time, I will draw the Matriarch's eye and gain myself a better name, a stronger reputation.

It all starts here.

Yes, I will make a name for myself here. It is time I harness some of the power that I deserve.

My eyes narrow in again on the Elder as he leans down to kiss his worthless mate. I have to suppress a snarl as the crowd moves around them. How can they act like that?

Anger flicks up inside me as they part, going to their individual supervisor areas. The human has more power than I, and it is time to right that. I stand, lifting my head high, and I know that it is time to take what has always been mine.
