Story: Beneath Her Skin
With spring in my step, I wheeled him inside the emergency room entrance, stopping for a moment to lock the doors with the program on my phone. No one was getting out, except for me when my work was complete.
Continuing forward towards the elevators, I pressed the button for the top floor where the executive offices were located.Upon entering the elevator, I couldn’t help but grin at the blood splatter on the wall, remembering Dom’s head tossing to the side as I hit him with the butt of that gun…
This is all for you, baby. I promised you I would burn the world down to get you justice, and after tonight, I’ll only have three more of these motherfuckers left.I said to Amara in my mind.
The elevator doors opened, and I began the familiar walk towards Amara’s office. Even after two years, a strip of the yellow “police line” tape was still hanging horizontally across the doorframe. I was careful to avoid it when I was setting everything up; leaving it there as a reminder, motivation for why I was doing this.
“You thought you and your stupid brothers could outrun the LAPD, but not me,” I said as I ducked under the tape, pushing Aaron into the room.
Parking the wheelchair in the middle of the room, I made sure he was facing the wall of monitors I had set up. Each monitor would show him a specific security camera I had set up, so he can watch everything I do to Dom…everything.
Locking the wheels on the wheelchair, I began to untie Aaron. I needed to remove his handcuffs from his wrists behind his back, but before doing anything else, I pulled my cell phone out and tapped a few buttons to light up the monitors with my security cameras.
It’s been a little while since I left Dom in the morgue, and I’m sure that steroid-induced piece of shit was awake by now and trying to escape.
Scanning the monitors for the morgue, I saw Dom trying to slide himself out of the cold body storage unit.
With a satisfied smile, I removed my duffel bag from across my chest and dropped it to the floor. Kneeling down on oneknee, I rummaged through its contents, looking for my smaller lengths of rope.
Pulling out a few small bundles of rope, I glanced at the monitors, watching Dom. I couldn’t help but chuckle as his body landed with a harsh “thud” as he rolled himself off the tray. Returning to untying Aaron, I glanced at Dom again. The look of confusion, shock, pain, fear… It made the two year wait worth it.
I pulled the second handcuff key from my pocket and unlocked the cuffs on his wrists behind his back, tossing them in my duffel. I had to move quickly, time was running out, and fuck, how badly I want to hunt…
I tied Aaron’s arms to the armrests of the wheelchair, his elbows bent at a ninety-degree angle. With the original rope I had used to hold him in place when bringing him up here, I wrapped it around his torso and the backrest of the wheelchair as tight as I could. Finally, I used smaller lengths of rope to tie his ankles and shins down to the footrests.
My eyes caught Dom as he discovered the handcuff key I left for him.
Now the fun begins…
One more time, I reached into the duffel, pulling out a little pouch of smelling salts. Cracking it, I held it up to Aaron’s nose, and he quickly awoke, looking around the room as if he was assessing where he was. The moment his eyes met mine, they narrowed in anger.
Standing in front of him, I leaned on the wall casually with my arms crossed over my chest. As he glared daggers at me, I untucked one hand, wiggling my fingertips in a mock wave.
“So, here’s the deal,” I said, pushing myself off the wall, bending over in front of him, resting my hands on the armrest of the wheelchair. “You’re going to sit here like the bitch you are, and watch me hunt your brother.” I tipped my head towards the security cameras. “Oh! My apologies!” Reaching into my pocketfor my phone, I tapped a few buttons, turning on the audio. ”There! All better!”
Tucking my phone back in my pocket, I lifted Aaron’s chin to look at me.
“Do you remember this room, hmm? Do you remember what you did to my fiancée? What Dom did to her? Erik? Sebastian?” I said through gritted teeth as he looked around the room. A flash of realization hit him as he looked back at me.
“So, you do remember. Good,” I purred, walking behind him. With his knife, I cut a slit in the duct tape covering his mouth before placing it back in its holster on my hip. With my fingertips, I continued the rip, giving me a good section to grip on.
“You know, it’s the little things in life…” As hard as I could, I tore the duct tape from his skin until the middle of his cheek. A decent little chunk of hair was left behind in the tape, as he groaned in pain. Walking around to the front of him, I continued. “The smallest, most insignificant things have a way…” Again, I tore the tape as hard as I could, uncovering his still gagged mouth. “... of bringing you joy…” The next tear forced a tear run down his pathetic face, and about a quarter-sized chunk of epidermis tore from his cheek. “But what do I know? I’ve been living without my fiancée for two years,” I spat, ripping it the rest of the way off, tearing more hair out from the back of his head.
Blood trickled down his cheek where some of his skin was torn off and it sent a swell of pride and satisfaction throughout my body. His skin was red, swollen, and irritated from wearing that duct tape for over fifteen hours, and it was the least of what he deserved.
Still gagged, Aaron tried to talk, and I tossed the duct tape over my shoulder like it was the most insignificant thing I’d ever laid hands on. Through his mumbling, I dug through my duffelfor fresh gloves since the tape ripped the fingertips off of the doubled up pair I was wearing. While I was in my bag, I pulled out two heavy duty leather wrist restraints that looked like a leather belt on steroids, and two freshly filled magazines for Dom’s 1911.
Dom groaned through the speakers, earning both mine and Aaron’s attention, our eyes finding the security cameras. He was kneeling on the ground next to a now open door on the lowest level of the morgue’s body cooler. Using the inside corner of the door, he maneuvered his cheek to try to peel down the duct tape using the corner of the steel door.
“Hmm, ingenuity at its finest,” I chuckled, placing the magazines in my back pocket and kneeling in front of him, strapping his wrists to the wheelchair.
Standing tall in front of Aaron, I unsheathed his blade, pressing the flat edge under his chin to force his eyes to meet mine.
“Enjoy the show,” I chuckled, using the tip of his knife to cut the gag free from his mouth.
“You crazy fucking bitch! Don’t you know who we are?! Just wait until I get out of here, I will destroy you and everyone you love, do you hear me!” Aaron roared at me, and I placed his knife back into place, crossed my arms, and rolled my eyes as if I was bored. I motioned my hand as if I was taunting his mouth, yapping with a yawn.
“Oh, big words from a little fucking man tied to this wheelchair like a bitch,” I said, dramatically holding my hand and out, and flipping it with my fingers curled into my palm to metaphorically check my nails.
