Story: Only Ever Yours
Ellie
These past few weeks have felt entirely too long, but I’ve survived working for Jaydon. Working with him has been interesting, to say the least. It's weird getting to see this side of him in his own element.
Ever since that night I threw my dildo at him, he’s been distant from me once again.
I’ve kept my distance, and so has he. We’re at this weird standoff, so to speak.
And that's fine because, honestly, it’s probably for the best. He’s playing the part of business owner and boss while we are at work and keeping everything totally professional.
Not even one crazy comment or innuendo has slipped from his mouth, which is totally shocking. I expected some sort of crazy comment about my purple friend to come out. I wonder how much longer until he slips .
I see how he thrives when he’s in control, a close relation to the side I’ve seen of him in the past when we’ve been alone.
He just likes to control me in a whole other way.
It's such a turn-on watching him in our small office meetings and how he commands the attention of everyone in the room when he’s speaking. He's running this company like a well-oiled machine, and he thrives on it.
Watching him in his element is sexy as fuck. He has a casual cockiness about him when he’s in the office. I guess he has that right; he has built this company from a single vision and brought it to life.
I’ve been working my ass off this week to clear the backlog I inherited by Jaydon's team. I have caught up on all the things they were behind on, but that’s only due to the fact that I've been there working every day.
Jaydon asked if I could do full-time, so I called Elaine and let her know I was putting in my two weeks' notice. She didn’t mind at all and said I didn’t need to continue for the remaining days if I didn’t want to—said she had everything covered at the café.
I’m kinda gonna miss it there, but working for Jaydon is way better pay, and I desperately need the money.
Jaydon was shocked when he found out I had finished everything sooner than he expected. I guess he underestimated my office skills. I know how to get shit done .
When I’ve had the chance to venture out and around the office, I can’t seem to pry my eyes away from him, watching the way he interacts with his employees.
Seeing this side of him has me melting a little more and more each day. But there’s just one underlying problem.
My sister.
I should probably just come right out and ask him or tell him I know. But what would that do? It still won't change the fact that he’s been playing me this entire time. I’m grateful to him for all his help, but I still can't get past everything else.
We've fallen into a synchronized rhythm, steady and so damn predictable.
We drive to work together and ride home, only talking about work-related things.
He usually cooks dinner most nights, if we’re not living off leftovers or ordering out.
Then, like clockwork, we go our separate ways.
I normally end up in my room alone, reading all the naughty things in my romance books—most of which I wish Jaydon were doing to me instead of only reading about them.
But here we are.
