Meeting Avery changed everything. It was supposed to be one night, one night of fun and pleasure. I never wanted more than that with a woman and never considered forever or a family beyond Vibrant Ink. When she walks back into my life with two pink lines as proof that our night together has become much more, I don’t know what to do.
Avery gives me a purpose and teaches me how to love, even though it takes me a while to see what is right in front of me. Now I know that she’s meant to be mine and it’s just a bonus that she’s carrying my baby. My life has been predetermined for me by my parents, my father insisting that I follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer. I gave in, but then he made me work at his firm. Again, I gave in. Now he wants to marry me off to another partner’s son, and I don’t think I can give in this time.
