He grinned as I gaped at the old Ford Bronco, which had once upon a time been a pretty sky blue, though now the paint was faded and patchy in places. “Holy shit,” I said, blinking and gawking. “You got me an old car?”

Kellan stifled his laughter, while Finley’s smile grew. “Well, I got a car that we can fix up together. If you… wanted to.”

Be still my rapidly beating heart. Finley Thornton was a damn romantic.

Stepping closer, I fell in love with the car as soon as I ran my hand over her gorgeous, rounded lights.

Finley watched closely, and I desperately tried to find the words to explain how much his gift meant to me.

It was no more than the gifts from the others, but it was unique all the same.

Especially when it came from the alpha who’d made no secret of how much he wished I wasn’t in their lives.

“I love her,” I said, blinking hard to ease the burn behind my eyes. “I love old cars and fixing them up. And I love that you chose a gift which would give us time together. That’s…”

Everything.

Finley’s eyes were shiny as he swallowed roughly, his voice a low rasp. “I owe you so much more than a car, but I figured this was a great place to start. I can’t apologize enough for how I treated you, Emme, and I will work every day to make it up to you.”

Kellan coughed out a sob, and we all turned to find him wiping his eyes with his shirt. “Allergies,” he croaked. “Fucking pollen is hectic during spring.”

“It’s winter,” Finley noted dryly, though he smiled as he said it. Kellan flipped him off in response, apparently too allergic to speak. My sweet golden.

When Finley opened the door, I hurried to look inside, delighted by all the original parts and decent condition of the leather. “It doesn’t start,” he warned, his huge body crowding behind mine in the doorway. “She’s going to be a challenge but I’m ready for it if you are”

“So ready,” I burst out as I leaned in, noticing the joins up high. “Oh, and the roof comes off?”

Finley got even closer, and I was combusting in the small space. “Yep, she’ll be the perfect summer car once we’ve restored her to her former beauty.”

When I turned, he was so close we were almost chest to chest. “When’s your birthday?” I asked softly, not wanting him to move away just yet.

His expression was the picture of serenity as he met my gaze, and I was struggling to remember what his scowling face even looked like. How easily one forgets when one wants to.

“The fifth of August.”

I chuckled. “A summer baby. That must have annoyed your ice loving heart.”

Kellan snorted, and Finley couldn’t help but laugh along. “I enjoy the best of both worlds. Summer storms fit me just as well.” Oh, how true that was. At least when we’d first met.

Finley’s bulk kept me trapped between him and my new baby, until Hunter released a snapping exhale. “My fucking turn. You’ve all had your chance.”

The bear looked like he was going to resist the order, so I reached out and brushed my hand across his chest, catching the way his eyes closed briefly before he stepped away.

When Hunter was my sole focus, I said, “You’ve already given me everything, Alpha.

” I pressed my hand to his shoulder and then ran it down until I felt his heart thundering under my touch.

Our beasts nuzzling through the bond. “You convinced me to move into the pack house, coaxing my frightened, wary ass along until I was able to understand the gift of our pack. You saved me, Hunter Reeves, and I need you to know that you’ve already given me everything . ”

His arms wrapped around me so fast my head spun, and when my feet left the ground, I sighed in relief. No doubt he’d felt my frazzled emotional state all day through our bond, and knew I needed a second of his strength holding me together.

“I haven’t even started giving you gifts, little omega,” he warned against my throat. “Prepare yourself.”

Pressing my lips to his shoulder, I chuckled. “There’s no way to prepare for you, Hunter Reeves. But I’m ready for whatever you throw at me.”

He dropped me to my feet, and cupped my face for one last kiss, then headed into the container, emerging a beat later with a huge sack over his shoulder.

“Okay, that once again is giving me kidnapping vibes, and I’m wondering if I should be concerned.

That bag could easily fit a reasonable tall female.

“No kidnapping yet,” Hunter replied with a smirk. “That comes later.”

Heat flared in my body as he gestured for me to step back so he could place the sack between us. He reached in and pulled out a gift wrapped in shiny, black and gold paper. As he handed it to me, I noticed the tag with a large 1 on it, and I ran my thumb over the silky material.

“I wanted to give you the experience of opening gifts,” Hunter said, watching me close enough to pick up even the slightest change in my expression. “I assumed you’d never gotten lots of presents before.”

I shook my head as I unwrapped the paper, finding a shiny black phone case inside, custom made with my name printed on the back in pink.

“You didn’t tell me your favorite color during our discussion after hockey,” Hunter said, leaning in closer, “but I’ve noticed you favor pink and black.”

Aw, he was such a good stalker. “I’ve never really claimed a favorite color,” I said with a nod, “but I am drawn to pink and black. And this is so cute, even if it is a little late for my battered phone.”

I loved that he’d gone for a practical and not over-the-top gift, which wasn’t Hunter’s usual style but fit me so well.

“He’ll have thought of the phone situation,” Kellan said dryly from where he stood beside Finley, his hand on the bear’s shoulder.

I loved how close they were, a bond that had only strengthened since Kellan almost died.

“Thought of my phone situation?” I asked, turning back to Hunter to find him with another gift in his hand. Ah, okay. This was more Hunter Reeves.

Over the next twenty minutes, I opened dozens of gifts which included clothes, shoes, bags, and as predicted, a brand-new phone to match the case.

“How many gifts did you get me?” I said as he handed me number twenty-three.

“Twenty-six of course,” Hunter said, bunching his brows like that was a ridiculous question. “You turned twenty-six, little mate.”

I wondered if these alphas knew that today they’d repaired wounds they hadn’t inflicted, and eased pain they didn’t cause. They were the gifts, while the rest was just glitter on top.

Really lovely, and thoughtful glitter.

Hunter’s next present was a pair of biker boots that had to be worth a fortune. I was instantly obsessed with the buckles and soft brown leather. Twenty-five was riding gloves, and twenty-six a matching leather jacket that fell to mid-thigh, and made all my biker girl dreams come true.

“I loved everything,” I said, staring wide-eyed at the massive pile of gifts surrounding me. “I need to start working out gifts for you if I need thirty plus. When’s your birthday, Alpha?”

His eyes darkened at my usage of the honorific I only pulled out on special occasions. “The tenth of October,” he said, his voice a delicious rumble. “And you don’t need to get us presents. We have everything we need with our pack.”

“Fuck yes,” Kellan called, “though if anyone wants to get me a set of gorgeous, one-of-a-kind Froyde blades, I won’t be mad about it.”

I locked that away to ask Slade about, since Kellan’s birthday wasn’t too far away.

It was going to be next to impossible to buy billionaires anything they didn’t already have, but I had to at least try.

As I gathered up Hunter’s gifts, I marveled over the fact that when I’d dragged myself out of bed this morning for training, I’d had no idea it was about to be one of the best days of my life.

The only way it could get any better, was if we got word that Fletcher and his witch had accidentally exploded in a workplace accident, and our world was no longer under threat.
